Healthcare Improvement Lean Learn (HILL) Demonstration Project
Adapted from the Toyota Production System/Lean for Healthcare

The HILL Project (The Project) will make available to other healthcare organizations nation and worldwide the knowledge and experience gained by the participation of 32 healthcare organizations in a comprehensive plan to improve quality in healthcare and reduce the cost of healthcare delivery.

This is an effort to expeditiously modernize the US healthcare system and to lower cost and improve healthcare quality, as recommended in:

  • President Barack Obama’s Healthcare Plan
  • Senator Max Baucus’ Call to Action, Health Reform December, 2008
  • Senator Edward Kennedy’s decades-long quest for healthcare reform

 

Senate Healthcare Reform - 11/20/08

Healthcare Insurance Reform - 11/17/2008

Achieving true healthcare reform will entail nothing short of changing the way consumers, insurance providers, government and  healthcare providers THINK.  Consumers must take responsibility with their care and how  their healthcare dollars are being spent. Health insurance providers must offer guaranteed issue policies. Government cannot afford universal health coverage.  Health Care providers need to be competitive and beholden only to their patients.
